Typing this with yarn barf in my lap currently. These socks truly are one of the more cursed projects I've worked on.Had my second booster (fourth COVID shot) today - the Omicron bivalent, so now I'll feel a little better on my daily commute with that added protection over double masking. In a genius move, which I should have tried earlier tbh, I propped up my phone in the front basket to use the navigation map in real-time, instead of stopping on every unfamiliar street to check the way.
The phone navigation took me on a road I wouldn't have picked initially, but the path did take me under the overpass, sandwiched between the river and a park, which made for a nice visual contrast. The weather couldn't have been better for it: warm (which has been a nightmare in the office), with a slow breeze. Despite the unseasonably (?) warm weather even into November, the leaves are turning and I took a few nice photos. One of these days, when my paycheck is back to 100%, and COVID is less of a worry, I'd like to travel to see the colors around the closest gorge, or something.
I don't usually travel over this way, even if it's not too far from the apartment, since the train station is too far. It was nice to see even more of the quieter areas that often get looked over, since it's close to an industrial area, and buses are the only public transport.
I've had this appointment for over a month now, and honestly the last week I was stupid with worry that I'd catch the cold that's been floating around the office. Managed to avoid it, otherwise this entry would've been different.
The shot has been uneventful so far, a few hours out. Though that's what I thought about the third one, and I woke up the next day (Sunday) with a fever that lasted long enough that I took Monday off. Back to Pfizer again, so maybe I'll luck out.

So speaking of taking things slowly, yesterday I picked up reading again The Beginning Place by Le Guin. I've carried it with my in my tote bag for months at this point, untouched and unfinished, only 27 pages in; and today I managed page 66 by the end of lunch.
